Faculty Departments:The faculty contains of two departments as follows:
- Information Techology Department (IT).
- Basic Sciences Department (BS).
1. Information Technology Department:
Considered to be the backbone of the Faculty of Science and Information Technology, he Information Technology Department stands out from the rest. This flourishing department has been gaining momentum since its establishment in 1997.
The DIT started its journey with one single 133-credit hour major- BSC in IT. Since then it has been developing its performance by proposing three up - to date programs in 2002-2003:
a- Information systems
b- Computer Science
c- Software engineering
The DIT has also accredited the Route System which enables our graduates to cater for the practical demands of today's labor market. The flexibility of this system allows students to take 12 credit hours in a certain route that is to be considered as a sub ?specialty. This system consists of:
Computer Information Systems (CIS) Routes:
- Computer Networks
- Internet & Web Design
- E- Commerce
-Industrial Computer Systems
Computer Science Routes:
- Data Processing Operating Systems
- Data Base
- Operating System
This department hosts a 24- teaching member staff holding PhD , Master?s and Bachelor?s degree .ITD holds many training courses to members of the local community. It has also signed mutual agreements with Oracle Association and Cisco Association, in order to train BAU?s students and teaching board members.
2. Basic sciences Department:
Since its establishment in 1998the Department of Basic Sciences has served as a threshold for the university freshmen through its compulsory multi-level service courses. These courses which are presented by a highly qualified staff cover the areas of Arabic, English, Islamic Culture and The History OF Science as University required courses. The BSC also offers other prerequisite courses recommended by other faculties like Physics, Chemistry and Math.
This flourishing department has decided to offer its best by developing two Masters programmes ? one in Applied Physics and another in Applied Chemistry.
In order to offer the best academic atmosphere for our BSC and MSC students, the department has recently finished installing high quality computer labs as well as Chemistry and Physics ones.
